From Agile Coach to Health Coach:
How My Corporate Experience Shaped My Business
For nine years I served corporate clients as an Agile coach, sharing my knowledge and experience to help teams work more effectively and achieve better results.

But what exactly is Agile?

Agile is a way of working that helps teams get things done faster and better. It was originally created for software development but is now used in many other areas, sometimes correctly and sometimes not. Instead of planning everything in detail at the start, Agile focuses on:

-
Small steps: Work is broken into pieces so progress can be seen quickly.
-
Flexibility: Plans can change if new ideas or problems come up.
-
Collaboration: Teams work closely together and check in often.
-
Feedback: Work is reviewed regularly to make sure it is useful and improving.
In general, the job of an Agile coach is to train teams that want to adopt this way of working. But training alone is not enough. Otherwise, I would have been just an Agile trainer. After preparing the teams with basic knowledge, my role was to coach them.

As an Agile coach, I didn’t just teach the rules or methods. I guided teams in applying Agile in their daily work, helping them learn by doing and improve over time. This involved:

-
Observing the team in action to see where they struggled or succeeded
-
Asking guiding questions to help the team reflect and make decisions themselves
-
Facilitating learning opportunities like retrospectives or workshops to improve teamwork and processes
-
Helping remove obstacles that prevented the team from working effectively
-
Encouraging a mindset change so the team embraced collaboration, adaptability, and continuous improvement
In short, training gives knowledge, coaching makes it real and practical.

During my Agile trainings, I often used a health improvement metaphor to explain the framework. The goal is to improve your health by focusing on three pillars: movement, nutrition, and mind. For each pillar, you start by delivering small, minimal steps, like a short workout, simple diet changes, or a brief mindfulness exercise. Flexibility and regular reviews help you adjust your approach and improve results over time.

Many people had an aha moment during these explanations. I did too. If I can use health to explain Agile, then the reverse also works. I can use Agile principles to help people improve their health. This means:

-
Small steps: Start with achievable actions for movement, nutrition, and mind
-
Flexibility: Adjust your approach based on what works and what doesn’t
-
Regular reviews: Reflect on progress and make improvements continuously
-
Focus on value: Each step should contribute to real improvement, just like delivering minimal value products in Agile
This approach turns health improvement into a practical, structured process, guided by the same principles that make Agile effective in work environments.

For me, this approach is natural because health is very important. I am a fitness trainer, I have always been interested in nutrition (I am currently studying nutrition science at university) and I deeply believe in the power of creating space for ourselves to improve mental health. Using Agile to improve health allows people to take small, flexible steps in movement, nutrition, and mind while reflecting and adjusting along the way, just like in an Agile project but focused on personal well-being.
At the beginning of the year I developed the Effective Self-Improvement Workbook, which is based on the Agile framework. I gave the beta version to some friends to test it, personally tested it myself, and made improvements after gathering feedback. The idea was to create the workbook and distribute it, leaving each person who bought it to self-manage their improvement. But just like in Agile, providing knowledge alone is not enough. You need a guide, a coach, to help make things happen and to feel accountable.

This is the story of how my business was born. Instead of serving corporate clients with my broad experience in methods to improve revenue, I decided to combine my knowledge and experience in the framework with my passion for helping people.
This way I can serve individuals, guiding them to improve their lives, health, and personal growth.
