I’m Not a Peaceful Soul. And That’s Exactly Why I Feel Good.

For a while, I thought I had to become someone else:
calmer, softer, one of those people who are always centered, always at peace. But something in me didn’t feel right.
For a while, I actually needed that: I needed to slow down, to stop pushing all the time, to breathe a little.
I even wrote about it some time ago, saying that my goal was to become a peaceful soul. And I meant it, at that moment, it felt right.
But at some point, something felt off.
Not unhappy, just… flat. Like I was holding back a part of me that actually wanted to move, to act, to do more!
And then I realized something very simple.
I am peaceful only when I’ve done what I wanted to do. When I’ve moved, decided, acted; I don’t sit on things, I’m not someone who “lets things be”.
I’m someone who delivers, that’s where my peace comes from.
Because the truth is, that’s who I am.
I feel good when I move, when I take action, when I feel like I’m actively shaping my life.
Not when I just sit there and accept everything as it is.
Today it feels like the message is always the same: be kind to yourself, accept yourself, don’t push too much. And I get where it comes from, I really do: for many women, it’s necessary, especially after years of pressure and unrealistic standards.
But I have the feeling we’ve gone too far in the other direction.
Because when you keep telling yourself to “accept”, you start accepting things that don’t actually feel right: when you keep telling yourself to “be patient”, you slowly become passive and that, honestly, doesn’t sit right with me.
I didn’t grow up like that: if something doesn’t feel right, I change it, I work on it, I put effort into it, I push through when needed. It’s not always easy, it’s not always comfortable, but that’s how I get where I want to be.
I tried to adapt to this more “modern” approach, but I could feel it inside. Too soft, too permissive.
At times, just… weak.
And I know this might trigger some people, but I genuinely feel like we are starting to create women who stop too early, who settle, who lower their expectations, not because they can’t do more, but because they’ve been told they shouldn’t.
I don’t want to be that woman and I don’t want to work with women who choose that either.
You can be kind to yourself, but that doesn’t mean settling, you an listen to yourself, but that doesn’t mean stopping. You can accept where you are, but that doesn’t mean staying there.
For me, it’s about something else: moving, deciding, changing with awareness, yes, but also with strength.
Because the truth is simple: things don’t change just because you accept them, they change when you start doing something different.
And that part of you that wants more is not the problem, it’s the part you should start listening to.
